HIPAA Compliant Custom Web Application Development

Specto Design worked with Invivoscribe Technologies to design and develop a HIPAA Compliant custom web application to connect doctors, hospitals and patients to a singular point of access for genetic testing.

Many doctors and hospitals don’t know where to start in terms of genetic testing. And with hundreds of tests available from different labs all over the USA, it is not only time consuming for doctors and hospitals to find the right tests but also very difficult to know which tests to order.

Genection offers standard and rare genetic tests through a unique system that links physicians, genetic counselors, and CLIA and CAP accredited laboratories.

Specto Design was the sole digital agency working on the project, end to end. We designed and developed all aspects of the HIPAA Compliant system in two years.

The complex system has different points of entry for Hospitals, Physicians, Labs, and Patients. We developed middle tier applications to interface with large laboratories and push orders directly to the corresponding labs. We set up a scheduling system for doctors and patients to schedule phlebotomists. We created a dashboard for patients and doctors to view test results, and share with other physicians through a patient approval system.

BRAND
In addition to designing and developing the custom web application, we also designed the logo, print materials and website. We strategized on the marketing materials needed to go to market, and developed all the content for the print marketing materials and the website.

Genection launched in 2012, this application and product is still advanced for its time. You can read about the launch in GenomeWeb.
