LIAI is a world leader in immunology research. [Specto Design] took on our web site project and in a span of 4 months [they] led our company through a major rebranding process. Marla and the team she led at Specto Design consistently exceeded our expectations in terms of the level of creative as well as technological savvy. She guided us through every step of the process and led us through a very successful launch. We hired them again to design and manage the print communications for our 20th anniversary event. [Their] scheduling and management of this project over 3 months was crucial to the success of the event. It was a pleasure to work with [Specto Design]

Founded in 1988, The La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology (LIAI) is a one of only a few non-profit research institutions in the world focused on understanding the immune response

Specto Design recreated the institute with one sole focus to convey to the visitors that their research means something, their research is making breakthroughs, their research is "Finding Cures Faster". We take credit for the tag line.
Collaboration at the institute is the main differentiator from other research institutes. Shared lab settings, shared equipment, shared brains. Collaboration brings results and not only does it bring results it brings them faster. LIAI's old site focused on the minute details of the scientist's research. No one except another scientist could understand what was written. We changed this around. We focused on breakthroughs and gave it a more personal touch. All the faculty members now have quotes, all faculty now have a photo to go with their name and research areas are now clearly defined. We knew they were making an impact but now the world knows.
Science Meets Art
Section specific visuals support navigational awareness and increase
interest. The images are their cell images blown up and colorized. Science meets art.
