This Week on Mini Movie Makers

Mini Movie Makers needed a dynamic site and had a lot of content to organize. From movie reviews to movie filming tricks, weekly assignments, school projects, monthly video features in six different categories and a section for kids to upload their movies along with contests.

Ecommerce Store

Mini Movie Makers has a how-to make movies DVD, the best of the best movie making tips. For the initial launch this was the sole product being sold however the future plans were to sell many more products on the web site. Specto Design integrated an Java ecommerce solution with back end functionality that enables them to grow exponentially when the time is right without redesigning the wheel.

Specto's Approach

We began with the Logo Design to establish an identity prior to working on the web site design. Once the logo and color palette was finalized we began the discovery phase of the web design project. We gathered all the content for the site and began organizing and brainstorming sections for the site with the client's feedback. The end result is a hip navigation nomenclature including Kid Vid Club, Tips & Tricks, What's Up and Cool Stuff - Kid Vid Club inclues a movie upload section.

Kid Vid of the Week

The Kid Video section required a back end approval process by Mini Movie Makers with a seamless front end that completely integrates with the look and feel of Mini Movie Makers. Since the users were under the age of 18 a mechanism was put in place to send an email out to the parent notifying them of the child's account along with some standard "House Rules".
